The Manufacturing Commission is launching its newest inquiry report, Industrial Evolution: Making British Manufacturing Sustainable, ahead of the Paris COP21 talks, in which it outlines vital measures that government and industry should take to ensure that British manufacturing is here to stay.

The Commission undertook this inquiry because it believed that none of the existing research into the future of manufacturing has so far adequately addressed, from a policy perspective, some of the major vulnerabilities of present day manufacturing in the UK.

After months of research, Carbon Connect is preparing to launch the latest in the Future Heat Series of inquiries Policy for Heat: Transforming the System on 14th October in Parliament.

Carbon Connect highlights that the Government needs to urgently produce and implement a long term strategy for decarbonising heat for buildings in the UK.

The Further Education Trust for Leadership (FETL) has awarded Policy Connect a significant grant to enable the launch of a new inquiry into how innovation is led in further education and skills across the UK.

The All-Party Parliamentary Sustainable Resource Group (APSRG) will be at the RWM exhibition at the NEC Birmingham speaking to visitors about sustainable resources, circular economy research and policy reports. You will be able to find them at stand 4K109 opposite the CEC Theatre, as guest speakers on a panel discussion and also hosting a workshop.

The Westminster Sustainable Business Forum (WSBF) has started work on its newest project: the 'Domestic Energy Efficiency' Inquiry. The WSBF is now looking to meet interested parties to engage the domestic energy efficiency sector in developing a complete report over the coming months. The team will shortly issue a call for evidence, and is first aiming to engage sector associations, leading bodies and public/private business in the process.

The Design Commission is set to launch its newest research inquiry on Monday 8th June. Exploring the relationship between design and behaviour in the built environment, the inquiry will seek to reinvigorate our understanding of the role planning policy can play in driving positive social outcomes across the UK's local communities.
