Call for evidence: Energy Efficiency in Commercial Sector

Call for evidence: Energy Efficiency in Commercial Sector

September 2013

The Westminster Sustainable Business Forum and Carbon Connect have launched an exciting new research inquiry, investigating ways in which government and industry can increase the uptake of energy efficient retrofitting in the commercial sector.

Co-Chaired by Lord Whitty (Lab) and Oliver Colvile MP (Con), the inquiry will particularly focus on the Government's Green Deal scheme whilst examining a range of issues associated with increasing uptake of energy efficiency retrofit both for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) and larger enterprises.

CALL FOR EVIDENCE

In this call for evidence video, Lord Whitty, Oliver Colvile MP and Rachel White of the Westminster Sustainable Business Forum explain the inquiry, its founding principles and focus, and ask for input from stakeholders from across the commercial, energy and policy sectors.

The inquiry, supported by Rockwool and Siemens, will launch its final report in Parliament in December 2013, containing recommendations for government and business to: increase overall uptake of the Green Deal scheme and other retrofit schemes in the commercial sector and reduce the financial costs associated with increasing energy efficiency in the built environment in the commercial sector.

Do contact the WSBF or Carbon Connect to give evidence or find out more information.
